Mini C-Arm Imaging Systems

HealthWright Technologies supplies mini C-arm fluoroscopy systems to licensed practices and facilities. This page covers the OrthoScan Versa, the current production model, and the OrthoScan Mobile DI, which we source from existing supply. Both are portable extremity imaging units that sit on a flat, stable surface or mount to an optional accessory cart. Pricing depends on configuration and condition, so we quote each system individually. Request pricing below and we will follow up with figures and availability.

OrthoScan Versa

The Versa is OrthoScan’s current production mini C-arm and the successor to the Mobile DI. It runs on a desktop, a table, or an accessory cart. At 35 pounds and 22.3 inches tall, one unit can cover several exam rooms instead of a dedicated imaging bay. The flat panel detector measures 15 cm by 15 cm. OrthoScan’s published documentation describes the Versa as cleared for use on pediatric patients.

Dose control is operator selectable. Pulsed fluoroscopy runs at 30, 15, 7.5, or 2 pulses per second, and a selectable dose filter lowers dose further for both adult and pediatric imaging. A spacer cone maintains the minimum source to skin distance required by 21 CFR 1020.32 and is removed only for procedures that call for a source to skin distance under 19 cm.

OrthoScan Mobile DI

OrthoScan’s Indications for Use describe the Mobile DI as a mini C-arm X-ray system designed to provide the physician with general fluoroscopic visualization of the patient, including but not limited to surgical orthopedic procedures and critical and emergency care procedures in hospital, emergency care, critical care, clinical, or physician office environments. The Indications for Use add that the Mobile DI generates, processes, captures, saves and transmits fluoroscopic images of patient extremities for the purpose of diagnostic imaging. Under Equipment Classification the same manual states that the device is for examination of extremities only. Confirm any planned use against the manufacturer’s current labeling.

The imaging device weighs 16.8 kg (37 lb), and OrthoScan’s manual states that a special dedicated outlet is not required.

Two imaging modes

The Mobile DI has two operator selectable fields of view, set by a collimator control under the X-ray tube head. Normal Mode gives a 15 cm by 12 cm field of view for a larger area of anatomy. Magnification Mode narrows the field to 11 cm by 8 cm, which images a smaller area and increases the magnification shown on the monitor. The operator switches between the two by sliding the control, with no change of hardware.

Conditions available

We can source the Mobile DI in three conditions: New, Certified Pre-Owned, and Pre-Owned. The Mobile DI is not part of OrthoScan’s current published product line, so every unit comes from existing supply. For each quote we state the condition, the serial number, and the warranty and service terms that apply to that unit, in writing, before you commit to anything.

Moving the unit

OrthoScan’s manual covers moving the unit from location to location within your facility. Moving a unit to a different facility is a separate matter. Under OrthoScan’s warranty terms the warranty does not apply to a unit that has been moved to a different facility or location by anyone other than OrthoScan or its authorized service personnel. Your state radiation program will normally require notification and a new medical physics survey at the new address. Ask us before you plan a multi site setup.

What comes with the system

Freight and white glove inside delivery are included on the OrthoScan Versa and the OrthoScan Mobile DI. The Hologic Insight 1 and the GE OEC-6600 include freight, white glove inside delivery, and a thermal laser printer with two rolls of paper. For the Hologic Insight 2 and the MediCapture USB 170 we confirm delivery on your written quote. Monitor options, the optional accessory cart, and the step stool are configuration choices we cover on the consultation call.

Warranty

Warranty terms depend on the unit and on how it is delivered, so we put them on your quote in writing. Our supplier states that its units, new and pre-owned, carry a one year comprehensive parts and labor warranty unless it is removed for a discount or a price match, and that the same coverage holds whether the unit ships to us first or direct to you. OrthoScan’s own published warranty is separate and narrower: it runs to the original buyer for one year from the date OrthoScan installs the unit. Before you commit to anything, your quote states which warranty applies to your system, who backs it, when it starts, and the service path.

Other systems we supply

Alongside the Versa and the Mobile DI we can quote the Hologic Insight 1, Hologic Insight 2, and the GE OEC-6600. We also supply the MediCapture USB 170 image capture unit. Tell us what you are working with and we will quote the closest fit.

FDA clearance

The OrthoScan Versa holds FDA 510(k) clearance K243452 as a Class II mini C-arm fluoroscopic X-ray system. The OrthoScan Mobile DI holds clearance K113708 in the same category. The Hologic Fluoroscan InSight family holds clearances K051025 and K120388 (FDA records list these as Fluoroscan InSight and InSight FD). The GE OEC Series 6600 we also quote holds K951765 as a mobile C-arm fluoroscopic X-ray system. You can verify any record in the FDA 510(k) database. The MediCapture USB 170 image recorder is an accessory in a different FDA category: digital image storage devices of its type are Class I and exempt from 510(k) premarket notification. Our FDA 510(k) device information page explains how clearance works and how to request documentation.

Before you buy fluoroscopy

Two things sit outside the purchase itself. States regulate X-ray producing equipment. Plan on registering the unit with your state radiation control program and meeting your state’s operator credentialing rules before you scan a patient. Requirements vary, and your state program is the authority on what yours asks for. Second, plan the room. The unit is portable, and a qualified medical physicist should still assess shielding and occupancy for the room you put it in.

How ordering works

Send the request below and we will reach out to understand your caseload and your room. From there we put a written quote in front of you covering the system, the configuration, delivery, and the warranty and service terms for that specific unit. If you want to finance the purchase we can introduce you to equipment finance companies that fund this class of purchase. Once the agreement is signed and funds clear, we place the order and your system ships. We will keep you posted through delivery. Installation and any state-required physics survey are arranged separately, and we will tell you who performs each one. If you are new to in-office imaging, our guide to the mini C-arm requirements a physician office has to meet walks the registration, survey, and operator-credentialing steps in the order you will hit them.
